TSI uses the IRV-100 Hydrocarbon Extractor, which is a portable, mobile hydrocarbon system used to remove volatile and semi-volatile hydrocarbons from contaminated soils. The extractor will accommodate petroleum hydrocarbons, chlorinated, aromatic and aliphatic solvents, and semi-volatiles in soils and aggregates.
The principals used in this soil treatment method include conduction and convection heating and vacuum extraction through reduced pressure volatilization of the material being treated in a batch treatment process.
